Events Manager

Maison Cuisine is a full-service catering & event planning company, specializing in corporate events, weddings, and other social gatherings. From black-tie weddings to annual company galas, Maison Cuisine specializes each event to our clients needs including customizable menus and meals, personalized rentals and signage.  Our events typically include a team of professional servers, bartenders and chefs. We are seeking an event manager who can help run our front of house team during events, help with client tastings and conduct final walkthroughs. â€‹

Event Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts short- and long-term planning and management for events. This includes helping with walkthroughs, tastings, bar prep and day of event tasks. 

  • Event prep includes taking bar inventory, shopping for specialty needs and mixer packages, and organizing inventory. 

  • Maintains or exceeds professionalism during events. Communicates with all implicated parties including other vendors and clients. 

  • Recommends, develops, and implements effective strategies for team management and efficacy at events.  

  • Supervises and works with event staff on all banquet and catering functions, as well as the planning and execution of the functions. This includes going ensuring all rentals arrived to venue, going over all event details in pre-shift meetings and assigning roles for staff. 

  • Leads event team to build long-term, value-based customer and vendor relationships.

This job requires extended weekend hours and a flexible schedule. We typically have 2 to 4 events a weekend in our peak season which runs from April to October and occasional events throughout the week. Hours fluctuate depending on season ranging for 15 to 35 hours, though this can be customizable to the right candidate's schedule. Having reliable access to a car is required.

Event Manager Qualifications / Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

  • Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills

  • Self-motivated

  • Calm and communicative leader

  • Effective in providing exceptional customer service

  • Ability to improve the bottom line

  • Clear, concise, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills

 

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Hotel/Hospitality degree is an asset

  • At least 2 years’ experience  in an event or catering environment

  • 4 years or more of event experience preferred

  • At least 3 years in the Food and Beverage Industry

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • ServSafe Certified
